college access and support

winthrop university college tour
A 2014 Hechinger Report found that students in rural counties are less likely to attend college, and those who do are less likely to choose a four-year, private, or highly selective institution.
Co-sponsored with BF Douglas Real Estate and Healing Households, The WILLFUL Foundation transported 5 students from rural school districts, ages 12-16, to Winthrop University (Rock Hill, SC.) for a college tour.
Our mission was to expose students to college and identify generational patterns they hope to break in their families. Students received a personalized campus tour and had the opportunity to watch a women’s college basketball game! We had a ball!
